Marsh Menagerie

  The Palacios area is littered with picturesque marshes and shoreline filled with exotic water fowl.  Palacios is a Birdwatcher's Paradise.

  The Palacios area hosts 21 birding sites listed on TP&W's "Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail" map.  Over 300 species have been spotted and recorded in the area.  Birds identified in this mural are:

Night Heron, Sandhill Crane, Magnificent Frigat, Snowy Egret, Killdeer, Mottled Duck, Roseate Spoonbill, Wood Stork, Great Egret, Brown Pelican, Laughing Gull, Great Blue Heron, White Ibis, Plover, Tern, and Reddish Egret.
